6 months already?!

That is what I said to Michael when we woke up Wednesday morning!  They say time flies by and they weren't kidding!  Holy Cow where has the time gone - sounds like a true mom huh?!

Our sweet baby boy was a CHAMP at the dr. for his check up.  He even laughed when he got his shot - at least the 1st one - he screamed for the last 3!!!  But he was back to smiley as soon as they let me hold him.  Doc was impressed with his strength and how well he was sitting.  I think Doc also said "Man he is an active baby" about 42 times in our 30 minute appt!  Welcome to my life Doc, welcome to my life :)

here are the stats:
Height - 26.5" (but I don't think they measured him right :))  That is the 60 something percentile
Weight - 14lbs 14 oz - that is the 9th (yes NINTH) percentile (Tall and Skinny like his daddy)
Head - 16.75" - 22 percentile
we are working him up to solids 3x a day and Doc says he'll be crawling in no time...here we go!!!!!

And of course, I will bid you farewell with some pictures of the little booger learning to read, acting like a monkey, playing with his toy bin at Grandma's,and enjoying dinner with Daddy at Tokyo...

Cousins, Babies and a Krispy Kreme Doughnut

Personally, I think all weekends should be 4 days... but that's for another post :)
We had a very nice weekend around the town and it was very nice - one small problem...I FORGOT MY CAMERA all weekend :(

Friday was a mommy/ Ryan day which always makes me happy!  We hung around the house, I got some shopping for baby boy done (thank you Carter's 50% off everything sale!), and we had a nice dinner just us 3 Galloway's!  BTW, Michael has now started calling Ryan Baby G or Little Man G - it's kind of funny!

Saturday we woke up to the FABULOUS news that our friends Nathan and Laura Ealy had their sweet baby girl.  Evelyn Ruth came into this world Saturday morning in the wee hours.  So of course, we had to take Ryan to meet his future girl friend.  He was really chatting her up, but like a true lady she played hard to get and chose not to respond - her beauty sleep was more important!

Sunday Ryan actually took a nap at church - can you hear the angels singing?!  We ventured out with our friends to Moe's after church.  Imagine my disappointment when it was my first time ever at Moe's and they didn't say "Welcome to Moe's!"... let down of the century!!!!  BUT - my burrito was amazing!  Can we say mushrooms on my chicken burrito heaven!  We had a very nice dinner at the in-laws with 4 generations present.

We were a little concerned about the weather on Monday given that weather.com called for a 100% chance of rain.  But, in true meteorologist fashion - they were wrong.  Well, I guess it depends on the definition of 100% chance.  It did rain late in day so I guess technically that covers the 100% chance, but it implied that it was going to rain all day which is did not do... anyway... the day was actually very pleasant.  Overcast with a slight breeze, perfect temperature; couldn't ask for more!  We set up a blanket in the backyard of my in-laws house and spent all afternoon outside with Ryan's 4 cousins.  He had an absolute BLAST!  That child smiled and laughed and played like he never has.  It was very enjoyable to watch.  And of course, he got enjoy his first piece of heaven - a Krispy Kreme Doughnut!  Michael let him lick his doughnut which resulted in pure joy.  So naturally the next step is to break off a small bite and let a 5 month old gum it to death.  He's ruined!!!!  :)

Here's to a short week!  Hope you all enjoy it :)

More Ryan

So you read about my weekend in word's, now here it is in photos :)  (well, the Ryan parts of my weekend anyway)

fun with Charlie!
taking Charlie for a walk before bed :)  we let him stay up late...8:45!
Playtime on Mommy and Daddy's bed
 I love tummytime!
especially when it's with Daddy :)
Waiting patiently for my greenbeans (I LOVE this picture)
1st bite... not so sure about all of this...
okay, now I like it.  Helping Daddy feed me.
MMMMMM - greenbeans!  Yes sweet boy, those are your mom and dad's favorite too.  You better like them beacuse we eat them everyday :)
after all that mess, it's time to get clean (and play some too)
This is the "I know I am going to hate you for this later but I am too young to do anything about it" face - hahaha
 Love my football!
Even though it's as big as me :)
Concentrating - this sitting thing is TOUGH!
 But fun!
And I am surprisingly good at it :)
So, every month I take a few photos of Ryan.  I plan to do a Blog soon with all of his monthly shots, but here is his 5 month  "photoshoot" from this weekend!

Okay, I'm done bragging now :)

Weekend update and a little Ryan

This was a weekend of firsts for the Galloway household...

Thursday - the one and only Ryan James Galloway slept through the night for the first time!  We are talking 8:30pm - 5:30am!  Yep, 9 hours!!!!  and then he went back to sleep until 7 ish.  I am one happy momma!!!

Friday - we had a nice day together while I was off work.  We met Michael for lunch and the 3 of us spent the rest of the day together.  Mom and  Tony picked up Ryan to take him to Grandma Carol's and Michael and I had a lovely date at Tokyo :) mmmmmm!

Saturday - we had a fun day hanging around the house and running a few errands and the Ryan got to experience his first wedding shower.  He also had his first veggie - mom and dad's favorite - green beans!  He ate them in his highchair that he sat in for the first time ever!  and he LOVED them and had a blast in his chair.  It was so cute.  He is getting big FAST!

Sunday - Ryan's 5 month birthday!!!!  we had a fun time at church and then enjoyed more fellowship for lunch. We had a potluck!  You know us Baptists LOVE to eat!!  I consider it a successful potluck when you don't have leftovers!  I went to a wonderful baby shower for our friend's Laura and Nathan and their soon-to-be gracing us with her presence Baby Evelyn!  The cutest shower EVER!  It was Owl themed (to match the nursery) and the gave us all Baby Ruth candy bars - baby Evelyn's name is Evelyn RUTH - SO CUTE!

and now... some Ryan photos... I love that boy :)

This is him watching Sports Center... scary, I know...
I love this picture!  I found him like this one morning when I went to wake him up!
It's a tough life!

The world's greatest discovery

Yesterday I discovered the Best. Thing. Ever!  Lowes Foods to Go!!!!  If you haven't experienced the awesomeness - you really need to.  Here's how it works... Go online, order your groceries, tell them when you will be there, show up, and they load your groceries for you (they even sent me an email and said they were ready early and I could come whenever).  All for only $4.95 (which you will make up by not buying all the random bad for you stuff you don't need while mosy-ing up and down the aisles)!!!  And... the even better part - the groceries are bagged properly.  Ya know, all the fridge stuff together, all the frozen together, etc... A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!  And yes, they have a freezer and cooler in the Lowes to Go office to keep your items until you come to retrieve them.

This mom of a baby will never set foot in a grocery store again (well, at least not for my weekly purchase).

BTW - mark this day down in history... 2 blog posts in 2 days... a new record!!!!

Hi, I'm Julie...

Remember me?  It's been a while... I figured I should try this blogging thing again so why don't we catch up on the past, oh, 8 months!!!  :)  Here's a quick recap:
* Charlie turned 4 in Janruary - he's sure getting big!  A whole 13 pounds!!!
* Michael and I celebrated one year of wedded bliss in May
* My house is still for sale (well technically, we took it off the market and it is now back on)
* I turned the ripe 'ole age of 28 in July

oh yeah... and I HAD A BABY!!!!!  March 21st was the best day of my life.  Ryan James Galloway graced us with his presence and life has been unbelievable ever since!  He looks just like his daddy.  And his daddy is one AMAZING father.  I love seeing Michael interact with Ryan.  It takes our relationship to a whole new level and it warms my heart to his love for our son.  I will post much more on Ryan later - just thought I would give you a taste :)  On  that note - here's a little closing image for you.

Until next time (which will be much sooner than 8 months from now)...
